Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Easy: Air frying is such an easy way to bake biscuits while keeping your oven open for other breakfast times that need to cook at a higher temperature.
Fast: This is so fast! You’ll have a batch of perfect biscuits in 10 minutes or less. It can’t get much better than that.
Perfect: This recipe produces perfect biscuits that come out golden brown, flaky, and delicious every single time.
Ingredients Needed to Make Air Fryer Biscuits
- Canned Biscuits: Any type of canned biscuits you can get at the grocery stores will work, here. Buttermilk biscuits, Pillsbury Grands biscuits, homemade biscuits, you get the picture. The only requirement is that the canned biscuit dough is refrigerated. If you have frozen biscuits ready to bake, thaw them before continuing with this recipe.
- Butter (optional): Butter isn’t absolutely necessary, but what would a hot, steaming, flaky biscuit be without a bit of butter?
- Jam (optional): Jam is also optional, but again, we ask – why would you not slather raspberry jam all over one side of your fresh, hot biscuit?
Equipment Needed In the Kitchen
- Air Fryer: We have the Ninja Foodi air fryer and absolutely love it. It’s a powerhouse air fryer that cooks food perfectly every time. It dehydrates, roasts, and bakes, and the inserts are non-stick and dishwasher safe making this a serious kitchen tool.
- Tongs: A good pair of silicon tongs are essential. You’ll need these to flip the biscuits over halfway through cooking time, and silicon tips will prevent the tongs from scratching the air fryer basket.
How to Make Air Fryer Biscuits
Pop open that can of refrigerated biscuit dough and you’ll be serving up hot, flaky, perfect biscuits in no time.
Preheat the air fryer
First up, you’ll want to preheat the air fryer. This gets it up to temp so every batch of biscuits you make comes out perfect each time.
Preheat the air fryer to 330 degrees F and program the total cooking time to 10 minutes.
Once the air fryer is preheated, break open the can of biscuits and place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Note: As long as your basket is non-stick, no cooking spray is needed. If you have issues with sticking, cut parchment paper to fit the basket, and cut slits or holes in the bottom to allow the hot air to circulate evenly. Place the paper into the basket once the unit has preheated, then add your biscuits.
Air fry yourself some biscuits
Let the air fryer cook away for 4-5 minutes, then open it long enough to flip each of the biscuits over. Let the cook time continue for another 2-3 minutes and check again. When they’re golden brown, you can pull them out and you’ll have perfectly cooked biscuits that are ready to grace your breakfast table.
Allow the biscuits to cool slightly at room temperature, as they’ll be piping hot when you pull them from the air fryer. Serve with jam, butter, or gravy, or enjoy plain.
Note: Different air fryers will work differently, so you want to keep an eye on your biscuits during the last few minutes of cooking time. If you have an air fryer with racks, use the center rack, or use both and rotate them halfway through cooking time.
What about homemade biscuits?
Let’s say you carefully measured out dry ingredients, whipped up your flour mixture, and pulled out your handy dandy pastry cutter or biscuit cutter to make some mouthwatering Brenda Gantt biscuits. But you already have something cooking in the oven and there’s no time to cool the oven down enough to bake biscuits in time for your breakfast casserole.
Never fear, the air fryer is here! Follow the recipe above, just as if you had a can of refrigerated biscuits and you’re good to go. Keep an eye on them as they cook, and pull them as soon as they’re golden brown. Voila! Homemade air fryer biscuits!

Biscuits in the Air Fryer: Tips, Tricks, and FAQs
Absolutely! We love serving these alongside a classic country omelet, air fried bacon, and air fried hashbrowns. We also enjoy using them to whip up an egg sandwich or serving them with butter and jam.
This basic recipe will work for most sizes, however small biscuits should have the time reduced by a minute or two. Set the time for 7 minutes instead of 9.
Leftover biscuits can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator or in a freezer bag in the freezer. To reheat them the next day, pop them in the microwave for a minute or two, or the air fryer at 330 degrees F for 2-3 minutes.
